otatoP's Japan Travel Guide

Japan is an incredible country to visit. Japan is known for having large, clean, safe, and convenient cities, and for having a unique, rich, hardworking, and polite society. There are many places to see and things to do. Such as getting a full view of the largest city in the world at the Tokyo Skytree Tower, playing exclusive arcade games at a game center, or riding the famous bullet train at 170 miles per hour.

If you'd like to go on a trip to Japan there is plenty of preperation to do.

  1. Learn some Japanese! It is incredibly fun and will be very useful on your trip. Tofugu has some great resources for getting started. Trenton on Youtube has some good advice as well.
  2. Choose when to go. Avoid going during Golden Week (29 April to 5 May) as Japan becomes extremely overcrowded during this time.
  3. Book your tickets and hotel reservations with Booking.com for good prices and easy management of your reservations.
  4. Pack light and leave plenty of space in your luggage for souvenirs.
  5. Use Ubigi to get easy and cheap access to 5G cellular data throughout Japan. (Crucial for GPS navigation.)
